We’re travelling full-time around Australia with our border collie pup, Nala, documenting life on the road as we go.

Explorin40 originally started as a way to share our adventures with friends and family back home, while hopefully connecting with other like-minded travellers. Over time, it has grown into something much bigger. It has become a passion of ours to inspire others to chase a life that fulfils them, whatever that may look like.

Our journey began when we were 16, travelling out of the back of an old 80 Series Land Cruiser. Every trip sparked a new idea, a new upgrade, or a new project to work on. It wasn’t long before we were hooked on the lifestyle. For a few years, we made the long drive from Perth to Mount Hotham for the snow season, and those trips really planted the seed for something more: a full lap of Australia.

These days, we’re travelling in our 1978 HJ45 Land Cruiser, paired with an off-road Pro RV caravan and a rooftop tinny, built to take us just about anywhere. Our setup has come a long way, evolving from an unlockable canvas canopy that let in more dust than we would have liked to a fully upgraded, MRT chassis-mounted canopy designed for life on the road.
Everything has been built to be completely off-grid because that’s where we feel most at home. Out in the middle of nowhere, far from the crowds, chasing quiet camps, empty waves, and everything in between.

This lifestyle isn’t just about travel for us. It’s about freedom, growth, and creating a life we genuinely love. We’re keen to share every part of the journey along the way.
