There can be track closures during periods of high rain, so check the track conditions before leaving.

Terrain: Easy to Moderate

Corrugations, narrow tracks, sand, high clearance required, mud holes if its been raining. The track is a single lane the whole way so be cautious of oncoming traffic.

An MRT X-Series Chassis Mount Canopy equipped off-road vehicle with rugged tires and additional lighting, expertly maneuvering through a muddy trail, demonstrating its durability and capability in challenging terrains. A breathtaking view of a waterfall cascading into a serene blue pool, surrounded by rugged cliffs adorned with sparse vegetation. The scene captures the natural beauty and dramatic landscapes typical of remote outdoor areas ideal for exploration.

Ensure you are filled up with fuel and water at Hyden or Coolgardie, as there are no supplies once you’re on the track.

Morning:
Now is the perfect chance before heading on the track to check out Wave Rock while in Hyden.

Begin at the southern entrance of the Holland Track at Hyden. You may encounter some mud holes early on in the track depending on the recent weather. Stop off at the Malleefowl Nest – a protected species of flightless birds found predominantly along the Wheatbelt Region.

Afternoon:
Approximately 50 km into the track is Mt Holland. There is a fun little 4WD track up to Mt Holland (easy) for some epic 360-degree views.

Evening:
Drive until golden hour and find a place to pull up camp. There are a vast amount of sites off the track to pull up camp – they don’t have a name but you will know them when you see them.

Morning:
About halfway along the track, you will come across the centenary tribute of the Holland Track. Here, there is a book to sign to say you’ve been on the track and plenty of strange and interesting items left in and around the survival box by fellow travellers.

The track is very flat, so whenever you get the chance to climb a side track to an elevated place, you will be treated to a panoramic view.

Afternoon:
Find some Gnamma Holes – naturally occurring cavities in rock traditionally used by aboriginal people as the main source of water for the area. There are a number of historic points of interest worth checking out.

Evening:
You will be close to the end of the track by now, so you can either pull up camp another night and finish the track in the morning, or head out the other end.

If you want to extend your trip,  check out the nearby Woodline Track, another remote and much less travelled track close to the Coolgardie end of the Holland Track.
