Ford Australia has announced a recall affecting 13,409 vehicles, including select Ranger utes and Everest SUVs, due to a critical engine fault that could lead to a sudden loss of power while driving.
The issue stems from a manufacturing defect with the left-hand camshaft sprocket in the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 ‘Lion’ engine. If the sprocket fractures, it may cause the engine to stall unexpectedly — posing a significant risk to drivers, passengers, and other road users.
This recall applies to vehicles built between 2022 and 2025. Ford advises that affected owners will receive written notifications, asking them to book a service with an authorised Ford dealership where the repair will be carried out free of charge.
