Morning:
We kicked off the day at Five Fingers Snorkelling area for an hour or so of snorkelling and exploring. From here, we headed back into Coral Bay town for lunch before heading to the next snorkel spot.

Coral Bay and Exmouth contain some of the most accessible reefs in the country, you don’t need a tour or a boat to get to these. You can simply swim a few meters into the ocean and be treated to coral reef teeming with life. There are snorkel hiring options at some of the visitor centres, and all the snorkel spots are clearly marked with boundaries and markers.

Afternoon/ Evening:
We headed towards the Oyster Bridge snorkelling area next, where we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves! It wasn’t as calm and flat as our first spot, with a few more rips, but with better conditions would be fantastic.

To warm up a bit after our chilly swim – we took to sandboarding the dunes, then set up for a picnic to watch the sunset. There are a variety of camping options in the area, with beach camping to the south of Coral Bay, caravan parks in the town, or more remote and rugged options with some of the stations further away.

Morning:
First up, Mauds Landing – we drove along the beach before heading to Turtle Cliffs to spot some turtles. There are many different tours you can join in on from this area too depending on the time of year, like swimming with manta rays, whale sharks, whales, and a range of other tours and different experiences if that is your thing.

Afternoon:
As the wind started to die down and the temperature warmed up – we headed back towards Five Fingers snorkel area to make the most of the amazing conditions. Unfortunately, this marked the end of our trip, but it can be just the start of yours!

From here you can head north to Exmouth and Cape Range National Park. The Yardie Creek Road offers a wild coastal 4WD adventure and drop-dead gorgeous scenery, as does making the trek out to some of the stations, including Ningaloo, Warroora, or Wooramel – each with its own unique remote journey and destination. You can easily spend a week or more exploring this coastline, and we hope to get back soon and do so!
